Vendor Spotlight - Éclat Chocolate
Master Chocolatier Christopher Curtin’s journey spans decades and brings world-class chocolate right to our backyard in Southeastern Pennsylvania. While he originally hails from Madison, Wisconsin, Curtin attended the House of Les Compagnons du Devoir, a traditional and premier guild for craftsmen in France. It was there he had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best pastry chefs in Europe. Eventually, he also became the first American to be honored as German Master Pastry Chef and Chocolatier in Cologne, Germany.
He continued to hone his craft abroad in Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Japan. Even now, almost twenty years after founding Éclat Chocolate in the U.S. (in West Chester, PA!), Curtin continues to travel and discover new cacao varieties and techniques from chefs and artisans around the world.
Featured in Bon Appétit, Time, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The New York Times, and many others, Éclat Chocolate is praised as having some of the “Best Chocolates in America” (Bon Appetit, February 2012) and has received numerous accolades from chefs, critics, and chocolatiers both near and far.
